The passing of Chadwick Boseman has inspired me to give to organizations at the forefront of fighting colon cancer. Please donate to one of these today.

South Carolina Cancer Alliance

Location: Columbia, South Carolina

Mission: The mission of the South Carolina Cancer Alliance is to reduce the impact of cancer on all South Carolinians.

Blue Hat Foundation

Location: Chicago, Illinois

Mission: Blue Hat Foundation is a community-based grassroots organization on a mission to educate and raise awareness for colorectal cancer, and it also provides resources for medically underserved communities, such as free colon cancer screenings.

Notes: Run by black women, while the foundation itself is not prevalent in news searches, the CEO (Candace Henley) has been cited a few times by different new sources; the Mayor of Chicago added her to a list of fearless Chicagoans.

Colorectal Cancer Alliance

Location: Washington, DC

Mission: To provide support for patients and families, caregivers, and survivors; to raise awareness of preventive measures; and inspire efforts to fund critical research.

American Cancer Society in South Carolina

Location: Four Offices across South Carolina

Mission: To save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer.

Notes: We encourage you to call the local offices to request more information and/or learn about staff at those offices. In April 2020, the ACS recently underwent a wave of furloughs (COVID-19 related).
