Poetry: What Grandma Means to Me

In honor of my Grandma’s 100th birthday, I decided to share the poem I wrote for her 93rd birthday bash! ๐Ÿ™‚

(2010)

What is Grandma to me?
She is a young girl
that learned and listened to her parentsโ€™ instructions.
She is a young girl
that grew into a strong young woman of grace & elegance.
She is a young woman
that became a mother.
A mother that realized
that the Young & the Restless will one day have to become
the Bold & the Beautiful generation of her womb.
She is a mother
with a Full House & realizes that Family Matters.
For every wise woman builds her house:
but the foolish plucks it down with her hands (Pro. 14:1).
So she is a mother that would say,
โ€œI want All my Children and even my lineage,
to leave a Dynasty, a lasting legacy
of kindness & honesty,
of truth & generosity,
that will show General Hospitality
to everyone that comes their way.โ€
She is a woman of God, like Eunice in the Bible.
She knows that He is our only Guiding Light.
She knows that this is what God desires of us,
so that we may live all the Days of Our Lives in peace & prosperity.
So that As the World Turns we live our lives
with Passions for God,
for life,
& for love.
Because we only have One Life to Live,
she is a woman that lives in hope of Another World.
A better place of no worries & troubles.
For this cause, she is a woman of integrity,
a home builder,
a woman of wisdom & virtue.
A woman of sobriety & prayer.
She is a dreamer & a woman with insight.
A woman filled with experiences that lead to correction & instructions.
A woman of joy,
humor, & laughter.
A woman with love.
This is who Grandma is to me.
